Some can be adapted to both pixel and tool shading, but these are probably best followed in Photoshop or a similar program.

Glitter

1. Find a doll that needs a little something extra. (Base from The Doll on the Hill Factory.)
2. If your image is a .GIF, go to Image > Mode > RGB Color. If not, proceed to Step 3.
3. Create a new layer. Zoom in and draw lines and/or patterns with the Pencil tool where you want the glitter.
4. I've found two ways to go about this, the results of which you'll see at the end of the tutorial:
  a. Choose a contrasting glitter color. Select your lines with the Magic Wand tool and fill them with that color.
  b. Using your Eyedropper tool, pick up a dark color from the garment. Again, select your lines and fill them with that color. (Use this method if you're not going for the Vegas showgirl effect. )
5. Go to Filter > Add Noise. Make sure Uniform is selected, and the Monochrome box is checked. I use amounts between 10–30%, depending on how much sparkle I want. Leave as is if you like it, or proceed to Step 6.
6. Drop the opacity to your liking. I've dropped it to 80% here.
